Choral Concerts

In 1987, some singing students asked if Angela Hawaleshka would run a summer choir. It started with 7 members, meeting in Angela's living room, learning a variety of styles of music and being very social! Under the direction of Angela, the choir has grown into a group of about 35 singers, which to this day includes several of the original 7. For over 20 years, The Alexander Singers has been Angela’s hobby, joy and passion, and its members benefit from her dedication and from her years of professional experience. Through her nurturing, the choir has reached and maintains high standards to critical acclaim.

Each year in early December, The Alexander Singers present three concerts. The repertoire ranges from Masses and opera, to spirituals, folk songs, sacred songs, Christmas carols and Hebrew songs and each year, the audience looks forward to participating in a sing-along. Our next choral concerts will be on Saturday December 13 and Sunday December 14 at 7.30 pm. This will include songs and carols for the festive season and a sing-a-long of well known music.

Rehearsals start at 7.30 on Wednesday September 5th in the Dufferin and Lawrence area. If you wish to join our choir call Angela at 416-787-7388. Come and learn some new music, make some new friends and share in the joy of song.
